I can assure you, I am far from a super woman. My grandmother on the other hand, now that is a super woman. She had 11 kids and to the best of my knowledge she had them all naturally. The difference was like night and day. I went from horrible pains that were producing very little to no progress in my labor, to literally sleeping through intense, productive, labor and birthing a child almost entirely pain free. I have opted for an epidural with each of my deliveries. Like I said, no Super Woman here. I am weak and I grow weary and I enjoy the rest.

I think Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Of course, parents always make fun of teenagers for this, especially when they have their first crush. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
Love isn’t always easy, because it means we have to care more about others than we do ourselves. Love is being kind, even to their parents or your mother-in-law! The couple was not looking for a real relationship, but rather what they thought the relationship should be The couple was not mature enough to forgive and forget Love is being honest, being open, and accepting the other person’s honesty and openness to you.

I drove from Houston to Austin with Josh, which was a great time by the way, and then we arrived in Austin in time to have supper with Ashley and some her friends from both high school and university. I then had the opportunity to travel back to Cypress from Austin with Mom which also was an amazing time. We had a great chance to talk about many things and one of the topics we talked about was how a couple of the guys and girls in the group seemed to be emotionally sad because of negative experiences with their Dad, or Moms, that were still having an impact on their own lives and happiness.
It is amazing how profoundly what we experience in love and relationships at home can influence our view on what things are going to be like in our own lives. One of the things that I continue to learn about as a parent is just how awesome a responsibility it is to be a parent. Now I know some of you may be thinking that this particular revelation comes a little late for someone who has been a parent for a little more than 26 years, but I think the learning as a parent never really stops.
I see the significant impact the parents have on their kids by the way they respond to relationship issues, difficult times in life and matters of trust and honesty. Failing to live up to God expectations in any of these areas not only can seriously impact and damage relationships for parents, but it has a trickledown effect that also has a negative influence on the kids.
When a mom fails to be faithful to her marriage relationship I am absolutely sure she never considers the long term effect that decision will have on her kids but there in unquestionable evidence the impact can actually be greater on the children. The same holds true for the Dad that fails to be truthful and honest in his relationships all because of what He believes is right for him, but that has fall out for generations to come.
The unfortunate truth is that the indiscretions of the parents often only get magnified by what their kids end up facing in their own relationships. It is encouraging knowing that God can make all things new, but disheartening when you see how much pain and destruction the world is facing due to parents who fail to live love and commitment in their daily lives and end up multiplying issues in the lives of their kids.

Saturday and Sunday you just read a longer story without questions to review what you’ve discussed and prepare you for the next week’s topic.
